“Launch Pad” Fund-raising Drive
 Without a doubt, the Sugar Shot to Space program is an ambitious and challenging undertaking. The members of the program are proud of this and work passionately to make the program an enduring reality. Our team is highly creative, talented and driven, however we are short on one essential element -- funds.
The goal of the "Launch Pad" fund-raising drive is to raise $1500 for the Sugar Shot to Space program within a limited time period of 6 weeks. The funds are needed to fuel the current project - MiniSShot - to a successful finale. MiniSShot is an important dress-rehearsal for the next chapter of the program -- DoubleSShot. The DoubleSShot project will take us 1/3 the way to Space and will be an impressive achievement in its own right. Following in the smoke trail of the DoubleSShot project will be the greatest adventure of them all - ExSShot, which will allow us to reach beyond the sky and sail into the frontier of Space.
We believe that our choice of taking this step-by-step approach provides for the greatest chance of achieving our ultimate goal. An all-volunteer effort such as ours needs to learn as we go along. To develop and grow, and to mature as a team. To learn as much from our mistakes as from our successes. To stand up to challenges with a "can do" attitude. To never let discouragement lure us into quitting. After all, this is rocket science and nothing comes easily.
Without adequate funding, the program will grind to a halt despite our best hopes and intentions. Let's keep the momentum going and maintain our gaze skyward, and beyond.
