Highlights of recent developments on the MiniSShot Project
-------------------------------------------------------------
-Chris King reports good progress, including start of construction of
instrumentation in support of the upcoming static tests. Chris writes:
"This week I received the following:
1. Firestorm 54 rocket kit for Chute Controller test flight.
2. The Chute Controller from Hans.
3. Parts from DigiKey for the building the load cell power supply and
voltage reference for Matt's instrument amplifier."
"I have started construction of the load cell power supply and attached
a photo that pretty must shows all the progress thus far. Basically it
is an empty box at the moment but the external components are in place.
I will be starting on a circuit card probably next
weekend. You may notice a couple things from the photo. I have elected to
add an instrumentation amplifier with selectable gain to the basic
reference
system originally planned. It seemed pretty straight forward to add so I
went for it. Matt's instrument amp may work better so I figured we could
decide which one to use later. I also have used 8-way (banana) terminals
for interfacing to the load cell. This will allow us to easily attach
any similar sensor in the future and simplify connecting additional
equipment. Four test points are available at values yet to be determined."

-Andre reports that he has shipped the completed Thermal Sensor board to
Hans to integrate with the main flight computer. Andre has also
completed a draft user manual which has been sent to Richard and Hans
for review.
-The "Launch Pad" fund-raising campaign:.
-tally has increased to $1340. There is only one week left week in the
campaign and we still need to raise $160 to meet our goal.
