Weekly Activity Report - December 7, 2008 (Week 49)

Highlights of recent developments on the MiniSShot Project
-------------------------------------------------------------

- Rick Maschek has completed dissection of the aft motor casing. The
casing was split lengthwise to extract the phenolic liner and to examine
the condition of the casing. The forward casing, which is potentially
reusable, has proven challenging to remove the spent casting tubes.

- The Propulsion Team has made plans to modify Randy Dorman's existing
89 mm motor to conduct testing of thermal liners under conditions that
will simulate a second-phase firing.

- Ed of TruCore ( http://www.rocketsaway.com/trucore/ ) put in a great
deal of effort in collaboration with Richard to design a suitable
"pseudo-finocyl" grain configuration which is being taken into
consideration as an alternative to the currently used BATES
configuration. Ed has also committed to fabricating a prototype coring
tool. Thanks so much, Ed!

- Richard and Chris King have been busy going over the thrust & pressure
data, as well as calibration data from the Nov.22 firing, in an attempt
to resolve a possible anomaly in the data. No fault has been uncovered.

- Fredrik Steen is a new Bronze Donor. Frederik tells us to "keep up the
good work!". We'll certainly continue to try our best, Frederik, thanks!
