Highlights of recent developments on the MiniSShot Project
-------------------------------------------------------------
- A Skype telecon was held yesterday to discuss the state of affairs of
the avionics that are slated to be aboard the MiniSShot rocket. A lot
was accomplished during the 2 hour telecon, in particular, plans
regarding the way forward and also with regard to integration of the
various components. A special thanks to Craig for arising early to
participate and to Hans for staying up well past midnight.

- Ed is planning on test-flying several of the avionics components in
the near future, including a video transmitter.

- Rick plans to test-fly the recovery system later this month. Rick has
also been tasked with demonstrating reliability of the "pyrotechnic
release device" (PRD) which is slated to be used to deploy the main
parachute. So far Rick has fired the device 35 times with 100% reliability.

- Sam Grado has been sourcing suppliers of temperature-resistance
casting tube material. So far Sam has obtained a couple of quotes for
candidate material.

- Earlier this week Richard received the nozzle and bulkheads from the
test motor, sent by Matt following completion of the motor dissection.
All components, with the exception of the Nozzle Shell, have been deemed
re-usable with minor rework.

- Shawn McHatten has made a $100 contribution to the Sugar Shot project.
Thanks, Shawn, for the very generous donation!
