Highlights of recent developments on the MiniSShot Project
-------------------------------------------------------------
- Good progress continues to be made on preparations for the upcoming
planned November 22nd firing of the MiniSShot motor. A new supply of
thicker walled titanium tubing (0.035" vs 0.022" used for the recent
Short Stack firing) was delivered to Randy Dormans. Randy has rough-cut
the tubing in preparation for machining to blueprint length for the
casting tubes.

Rick Maschek continues to meticulously prepare sufficient propellant for
casting the twelve grains needed for the motor firing.
- Gold Donor Mark LaBarre has had a large, high quality vinyl SS2S
banner printed, and has mailed the banner to Ed Mallory who will be
setting up a display at this weekend's NEFAR launch. Ed plans to promote
the Sugar Shot to Space program and may fly a reduced scale model of the
SS2S rocket.

Mark has very generously covered the full cost of the banner (not
cheap!) plus shipping charges. Thanks so much for your continued
support, Mark!
-Hans reports that the Flight Computer now supports downlink of GPS
data. This is not intended for high speed data streaming - it is
intended as a status downlink, reporting every 5 seconds, enabling the
ground crew to read the messages without getting drowned. Chute
Controller status and other messages will be added later.
- Are these weekly progress reports useful? A lot of behind-the-scenes
effort goes into preparing these reports, which represent only the tip
of an iceberg of the efforts put forth by dedicated members of the SS2S
program. Show your support and appreciation by making a contribution to
the Sugar Shot to Space program. Donations are highly welcome and can be
made at any time at our Sponsor webpage:
