Highlights of recent developments on the MiniSShot Project
-------------------------------------------------------------

- Chris King reports that he has completed fabrication of an adjustable
load cell mount for the static test rig. The adjustable mount will allow
for precise locating of the load cell once the motor has been fixed in
position on the static test rig. This new arrangement represents a
significant improvement over the set up used for the two prior MiniSShot
motor firings. Photo of the adjustable mount with load cell in place:

- Andre reports that he successfully conducted  a "full system test" of
the vibration sensor, with operation being similar to that which would
occur in the field. Vibration was simulated by shaking a table where the
circuit was standing, with a sampling rate set at 200Hz and filtering
was made digitally.

- Richard has completed fabrication of the ablative liner for the
Midbulkhead. The ablator had been cast in place using centrifugal
casting (similar to the technique for producing the ablative casting
tubes). The ablator was then machined down to blueprint dimensions. Next
step is to cast the delay plug in place.

- Richard has also begun machining the graphite throat insert. The
insert is identical in design to that used for the two prior MiniSShot
firings.

- Hans reports that he has nearly completed fabrication of  five
additional Main Computer units that he hopes to fly aboard two rockets
that are planned to be launched in September at a DARK launch event.
