Highlights of recent developments on the MiniSShot Project

- Monroe King has completed fabrication of the three aluminum couplers
for the MiniSShot rocket. The couplers will be shipped to Richard tomorrow.

- Richard has rough-cast all six casting tubes for the forward chamber.
One has been machined to the blueprint wall thickness (0.140" or 3.5 mm).

Work on producing the six tubes for the aft chamber has begun. Richard
has also completed fabrication of the Pyro Separation Device (PSD) which
is designed to separate the rocket at apogee to release the drogue
chutes. Testing of the device will begin soon.
- Peter Kocalka has completed fabrication of the patch antenna for the
telemetry system. The antenna measures 25x25 cm by 0.25mm thickness.
Peter also reports good progress on the telemetry ground station software.

-Hans has completed a draft document "MiniSShot Chute Controller
Instructions" which
is intended to serve as a checklist for preparation of the Chute
Controller for launch. The document has been forwarded to Ed Mallory and
Chris King for review.

- Rick Maschek has received the Sugar Shot to Space banner sent by Ed
Mallory. The banner was kindly donated by Mark LaBarre, a little over a
year ago. The banner will be displayed at all future SS2S events.
