Weekly Activity Report - August 31 - September 6 ,2009

Highlights of recent developments on the MiniSShot Project
-------------------------------------------------------------

- Peter Kocalka reports that the Main (Flight) Computer interfaced to
the TinyTrack4 is working very well, and that during testing, each
second it is collecting data from GPS. The TinyTrack4 converts this
information to audio and sends it to miniATV. All information has been
successfully  transmitted & received on Peter's Yaesu transceiver. Peter
plans this week to test comunication for longer range (10-30 km) and
analyzing and interpretation of the data type.

- Rick Maschek has completed cleaning of the MiniSShot motor parts
following completion of the dissection.

and Results from Static Firing July 25th, 2009"  has been  published and
uploaded to the SS2S website:

- Richard has received the DTMF and radio unit from Leon Salisbury. The
parts will be shipped to Andre Alexandre later this week.

- Richard and Rick Maschek have been working on the design of a proposed
"Pyrotechnic Separation Link" (PSL) that could be used as a structural
interface between the sections of the airframe that must separate in
order to deploy the drogue chutes. A PSL prototype will be built in the
near future for testing. The following document describes the basic
principle of the PSL operation:
