Highlights of recent developments on the MiniSShot Project
-------------------------------------------------------------
- The propellant grain "structural" test (
http://www.sugarshot.org/downloads/ms_grain_structural_test.pdf
), has again been postponed. The section of replacement tubing which
Richard fabricated and shipped has not yet arrived, despite being sent
"express" via UPS. The parcel was inexplicably held up in US Customs for
5 days. UPS says the issue has been resolved and expects the parcel to
be delivered this Thursday, one week late.
- Richard has rough-cast all 6 of the ablative casting tubes needed for
MiniSShot-2 aft motor chamber. Next, the 6 tubes for the forward chamber
will be cast. The ablator is of slightly different formulation for the
forward chamber, being of a lower density.
Highlights of recent developments on the DoubleSShot Project
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- Xavier Savaris, who resides in France, had volunteered to develop a
de-spin system for the Payload Capsule. The primary purposes of a
de-spin system are to reduce the tendency of shroud line twisting and to
improve on-board video footage.
