Highlights of recent developments on the MiniSShot Project
-------------------------------------------------------------
- Richard has fabricated two ablative casting tubes and sent them to
Rick Maschek, together with other necessary hardware, for the upcoming
experiment which will test the hypothesis that the anomaly that occurred
at the start of the 2nd phase burn was caused by grain fracture or
disbonding of the propellant from the casting tube. Photo of the two
casting tubes, which are identical to the casting tubes used for the
Forward Chamber of the MiniSShot flight motor:

- A draft document detailing the experimental setup has been prepared
and sent to Rick Maschek, Nathan Asdourian and Paul Avery for review &
comments:

- Richard has cut two new motor casings for MiniSShot 2:

The next step will be reinforcing the ends of both tubes with fibreglass
overlay at the locations where the nozzle and bulkhead attachment screw
holes will be drilled.

- This past weekend Rick Maschek attended LDRS 29 (being held from June
10-15, 2010 at Lucerne Dry Lake, in Lucerne Valley, CA) and set up a
SS2S information booth.
